HERE'S TO...

The Future.

Those two little words with so much meaning in them. And yet, those two words mean so much to every person, and to every person, they mean something totally different. The future may mean college; it may mean the military; and better yet, it may mean being completely unsure of it. The future is scary to so many people because it shows that we have lost all sense of control over any and all situations. If we don't know what to expect, we can't plan, and if we can't plan for something we don't know, then what do we have?
If we go off to college, we may lose all of our friends, but is the loss of one worth the chance to meet somebody new and maybe become even better friends with them?
If we join the military, will we get sent off to war? Will we ever get to see our friends again, or better yet, will they ever get to see me?
There are so many questions and thoughts that come from those two little words. But all we can do is hold on until we're white in the knuckles and blue in the fact, and hope that the ride is worth while. We have to take life one day at a time and learn not to regret a single thing that happens. We have to enbrace the unknown; the future...
We're all so used to knowing what to expect and how to handle things, but what happens when we're thrown out on our butts, into a world full of new people, oportunities, experiences, and ways of life that we have never been exposed to before?
What happens, when we grow up?
